JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT AND THE CANADIAN BUSINESS HALL OF FAME  EXPRESS SYMPATHY OVER THE PASSING OF CANADIAN BUSINESS LEADER  MR. DAVID RACE

June 12, 2012 – Toronto, ON – Junior Achievement and the Canadian Business Hall of Fame mourn the loss of board member David Race who passed away on June 2, 2012 in Toronto. 

“I am deeply saddened by the news of David’s passing, and I would like to express our sincere condolences to his family and friends,” says Jos Wintermans, Chair of the Junior Achievement of Canada Foundation. “David was a committed and passionate board member, as well as a distinguished Companion of the Order of the Business Hall of Fame.”

David joined the Foundation board in 2009 to provide leadership and support for Junior Achievement’s mission to inspire and prepare young Canadians to succeed.  David was inducted into the Canadian Business Hall of Fame in 1994. As a Companion to the Order of the Business Hall of Fame, David received the post-nominal designation C.B.H.F. in recognition of his vision, professional achievements and contributions to the Canadian economy.

“With David’s commitment to Junior Achievement, he played an essential role in ensuring the future success of our youth,” said Wintermans. “David leaves a legacy for Junior Achievement youth, and we are thankful for the example he has set for the next generation of Canada’s business leaders.”
