Celebrating Junior Achievement of Canada volunteers on International Volunteer Day

December 5, 2013 – During International Volunteer Day, Junior Achievement of Canada would like to thank the 14,681 volunteers who helped to support over 243,000 students across Canada last year.

International Volunteer Day is a global celebration of volunteers. It takes place every year on December 5 to shine a light on the impact of volunteer efforts everywhere. Volunteers are leading social change around the world. This special day promotes the work of volunteers at all levels, including local, national and international.

Last year, Junior Achievement volunteers donated more than 200,000 hours of their time to youth across Canada.  This is an incredible accomplishment and deserves to be celebrated!  Students from coast to coast received the benefit of a Junior Achievement program thanks to the dedicated volunteers who took the time to share their real-life experiences in the classroom.  Volunteers truly make a difference in the lives of our students!
