JA Canada Students Open the Markets
TORONTO, ON, November 12, 2015 – This morning students from JA Canada, the country’s largest provider of youth business education programs, were thrilled to celebrate Financial Literacy Month by ringing the opening bell at the TMX. During Financial Literacy Month, organizations and individuals across Canada have been rallying to support the national Count Me In campaign, to empower Canadians, to manage money and debt wisely, while teaching them to plan and save for their future. As a key member of the Financial Literacy Action Group and a leading provider of Financial Literacy programs to Canadian youth, JA is proud to participate in these efforts.
For almost 60 years JA has provided Financial Literacy programs to students in elementary, middle and secondary schools. Across the country, JA mentors visit local classrooms, providing educational programming and learning experiences to students in the areas of financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship. Last year 13,000 volunteers delivered impactful learning experiences to 250,000 students. During Financial Literacy Month JA is especially grateful to TD Bank Group and HSBC Bank Canada, major sponsors of our Financial Literacy programs across Canada.
